Happy Saturday everyone!  It’s been another REALLY EXCELLENT week on Create with Connie and Mary!  Since this week the team designed unique projects using the Card Keeper, we thought our challenge should be to make a special ‘one-of-a-kind’ card…just in case we would actually use the Card Keeper to keep cards in there!

The reason this is a one-of-a-kind card is that between all the pearls on this and the inking all those little dots with the Soft Suede marker (oh…then cutting out the tree), this was a VERY time consuming card to make!  The base of the card is Pool Party.  I took a print from the Spice Cake dsp added the scallop edge in Soft Suede from the Tasteful Trim die under it then added to the card front.  I wrapped a piece of the Cherry Cobbler Quilted ribbon around it and added a row of Basic Pearls down the left hand side.  I took the largest oval from the Ovals Die in Very Vanilla.  To get the ‘scallop’ edge around it, I used the Petal Cone die scallop circle 3 times in Cherry Gobbler.  I cut the edge out and notched it, then worked it around the oval to get the scallop layer.  I inked the tree using Pool Party and Soft Suede (notice ALL the dots!), stamped on Very Vanilla, cut out and added to the oval using dimensionals.  Merry Christmas is from Perfect Pairs and stamped using Cherry Cobbler.  I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon and vintage brad and added to the oval.  This oval panel is added to the card front using dimensionals.  To finish it off I added some more Pearls to the tree and to the side of the oval.

Hmmm…I do like this card and think I have the Christmas card for my sister already made now!  And speaking of NOW…NOW it’s time to head over to Create with Connie and Mary to see what the Design Team has done as their special cards.  Would you like to see their REALLY COOL CARD KEEPER ideas?  Well…there is still PLENTY of time to join!  You will have access to all three weeks already shared AND the three weeks still to come!

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
