This past week on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012, it’s been all about Flowers and one of the Flower sets is the very pretty Bordering on Romance.  I couldn’t wait to use this for my challenge card today!

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I then took the scripty looking piece from Attic Boutique for the left side and then a then strip of the Daffodil Delight Print for the right side.  I layered then together, wrapped a piece of the Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon around it then added it to the Very Vanilla base.  I did one of the labels in So Saffron and stamped the greeting in Soft Suede then added this to the card front using dimensionals.  Boy…I didn’t use it often but occasionally, like for this card, I really miss having the Basic Brown for watercoloring.  So, since I didn’t have that, I stamped the image (2 times) using Soft Suede CRAFT ink on Watercolor paper and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder…perfect now for watercoloring.  I used my Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, and Soft Suede markers along with a blender pen to color in.  I cut these out and layered on the label.  I added some tiny pearls to the flowers then the spray of pearls (both the basic pearls and the jumbo pearls) on the label to finish it off.  This really is quite the simple card but I do love the finished look.
