Wendy had a challenge today on SCS called “6 inches of fun” and she is right!  I’ve made these before just not this small.  One of the other people suggested an alternative closure that did not include velcro and I went with that.

Okay…a couple links that will answer your questions upfront…To get the pattern for how to make this cute treat holder, check out Wendy’s post here.  Like I said, I didn’t want to use velcro on this and Lorraine had posted how she did her closure and you can check that out here.

Now that I have that done, a couple quick notes about mine!  I used a 6 x 6 piece of the FABULOUS Pool Party print from the Spice Cake dsp.  I scored and folded as per Wendy’s directions and folded it up.  I then took another piece of the dsp to use as the closure tab…adding to the inside as per Lorraine’s instructions.  Fold it up and close it.  Now to decorate.  I stamped the wreath from the Holiday Mini Hostess set Warmest of Wishes using Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and then colored the ‘open leaves’ using Pool Party marker.  I punched the center of the wreath out using the 1 1/4” circle punch then the wreath iteself using the 2 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch.  I sponged around the edges using Soft Suede.  I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and a metallic brad and added to the wreath.  I then punched out a 1 3/4” Soft Suede Circle and a layered the wreath on there using a shaker frame circle.  I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs using Early Espresso on Pool Party, punched with the 1” Circle Punch and added it to the center of the wreath using the small circle from the Shaker Frames.  I added the wreath to the front of the treat holder to finish it off!

What a fun little challenge…THANKS Wendy!  Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
