Birthday Cake

The SUO challenge this time is Birthday…WHEW…that was soooo much easier than our Back to School on last time!  I just LOVE the new thinlits and thought how fun it would be to use it for this challenge.  I won the Label Thinlits at convention and just got this one and wanted to have some fun with it.

Now…if you didn’t see my Halloween card I made here, and saw that I did a video on how to get the paper on the panels and cut out, check the video out here.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple.  I took the fun numbers print from the Birthday Basics dsp and added to the card base before cutting with the thinlit.  I trimmed 1/4″ off the top panel, added the Crisp Cantaloupe Large Scallop (to make it back to a full  4 1/4″ size card when closed) then added a thin strip of Basic Grey on top to finish it off.

I stamped the birthday card using Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit markers on Very Vanilla, punched with the 1 3/4″ Circle punch, layered onto a Basic Grey Scallop (from the Circle Thinlits pack), added to a Bermuda Bay 2 1/2″ circle using dimensionals then added this to the swing panel on the card.  I added some rhinestones for a little birthday bling.  Next I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey on Summer Starfruit, cut with the banner thinlit that comes with the Circle pack and added to the front panel.

For the inside ‘swing panel’, I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey and Crisp Cantaloupe on Very Vanilla, punched with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, layered on a Bermuda Bay Scallop (from the pack and added to the inside swing panel to finish it off.

Oh…these new thinlits are just so fun and easy to use!  I love how quickly you can put together a ‘card that moves’ using them.  Both of them are fun with just some different accessories in each pack.  You can’t have just one!
